Travel Tuesday Deals 2025
2025 Travel Tuesday Flight Deals (Departing Australia)
Travel Tuesday 2025 is shaping up to be huge for flight sales. Both domestic and international carriers servicing Australia have announced enticing deals. Below I’ve broken down the key offers by airline – covering our big four Aussie carriers and major international airlines popular with Aussie travelers.
Domestic Airline Deals
-
Qantas: The Flying Kangaroo launched a “Travel Week” sale ahead of Travel Tuesday, dropping over 1.5 million discounted seats across 130+ routes This includes heaps of domestic fares starting at $99 one-way (and that’s on full-service Qantas flights with baggage, meals and drinks included. In fact, Qantas advertised that more than 600 domestic routes are under $200 one-way– perfect for family weekend getaways. Some standout deals: Sydney to Byron Bay from $99, Sydney to Gold Coast from $115, Launceston to Melbourne from $109, and even longer hops like Perth to Sydney for $319 one-way. Popular international routes are on sale too via Qantas (more on those below). The Qantas sale runs until 11:59pm AEDT on 2 December 2025(unless sold out earlier), so Travel Tuesday is the last day to book these fares.
-
Virgin Australia: Virgin is leading the charge this year with a massive sale of over one million seats starting from $49 one-way. Yes, you read that right – you can fly Sydney to Ballina (Byron Bay) for just $49, for example! Other family-friendly domestic fares include Sydney to Gold Coast from $65, Melbourne to Gold Coast from $89, and plenty more routes between $99 and $139 one-way Virgin’s sale also features short-haul international bargains like Sydney or Melbourne to Bali from $419 return which is incredible value for a full-service airline. These Economy Lite fares don’t include checked baggage, but even after adding a suitcase they’re a steal for a Bali holiday. The sale travel period spans 6 January to 15 September 2026 (varies by route) which covers the Easter break and winter holidays. Virgin’s sale ends at 11:59pm AEDT on 2 December 2025 Hot tip: Virgin is also offering discounted upgrades to Economy X (the extra-legroom seats) from just $15 on eligible flights – great if you or the kids need a bit more space to stretch out.
-
Jetstar: Australia’s budget airline went big with a “Return for Free” sale over Cyber Weekend Essentially, you pay for the outbound flight and get the return leg free on selected routes. This 72-hour sale started on Black Friday and technically wrapped up by the end of Monday (Dec 1), but it’s worth mentioning in case some fares are still available on Travel Tuesday morning. Jetstar advertised 90,000 seats in the sale. Example deals: Sydney to Ballina (Byron) return for $42 total, Adelaide to Melbourne (Avalon) $49 return, and Sydney to Cairns $108 return – those prices include the free return flight!. Internationally, there were stunners like Perth to Singapore for $149 return, Adelaide to Bali (Denpasar) from $229 return, and Cairns to Osaka (Japan) from $285 return. If you missed the narrow Return-for-Free window, don’t fret – Jetstar might release a fresh batch of deals on Travel Tuesday itself (they’ve been known to do flash sales on the day). Also, keep an eye on Jetstar’s site around 4pm each day for their usual “Fare Frenzy” sales – they often piggyback on these big events. Remember, Jetstar’s fares are no-frills (checked bags and meals are extra), but for the prices, it’s amazing for families on a budget. (Our kids don’t mind flying Jetstar if it means we have extra spending money for the trip!)
International Airline Deals
-
Singapore Airlines (SIA): The 5-star carrier is running a Black Friday/Travel Tuesday sale to over 90 destinations worldwide. It launched on 26 November and ends 2 December 2025, perfectly timing with Travel Tuesday For Australians, this means special fares from our major cities to Asia, Europe, and beyond. Some confirmed examples: Economy class return from Australia to London from $1,630 – an excellent fare with SIA’s top-notch service They’ve even discounted premium cabins, like a business class return Melbourne–London for $3,919 (if the parents want to splurge on comfort) Closer to home, expect deals on flights to Singapore (of course) and popular stopover or holiday spots like Bangkok, Paris, and Los Angeles. The sale details vary by route, but generally if you book by Dec 2, you can travel in 2026 at significantly reduced fares. Singapore Airlines doesn’t often go on sale, so this is a great chance to fly one of the world’s best airlines for less. (And between you and me, a premium airline sale is how I justify taking a toddler on a 8-hour flight – if we’re flying Singapore Air at a discount, the journey becomes part of the treat!)
-
Emirates: Emirates has joined the party with special offers on its flights from Australia during Cyber WeekThe airline hasn’t advertised one headline percentage-off; instead they’ve released a range of discounted fares to various destinations. For instance, flights from Australia to New Zealand are going from around $739 return, and flights to Europe (e.g. Sydney or Melbourne to London) from about $2,019 return – great value for full-service long haul. Emirates’ sale covers travel well into 2026 (often up to October). If you’re eyeing a family trip to Dubai, Europe or even Africa, check Emirates on Travel Tuesday. They often allow free stopovers in Dubai, which can be a fun two-for-one trip with the kids (hello, desert safari and water parks!). Emirates isn’t shouting “Travel Tuesday” by name, but the deals are there this week. Just be sure to book by the end of the promotional period (many fares likely expire by Dec 3 or a bit later, depending on the offer).
-
Air New Zealand: Our Kiwi cousins also have Black Friday/Travel Tuesday deals that benefit Aussie travellers. Air New Zealand’s sale (running through 1 or 3 Dec 2025 depending on the source) features flights from Australian cities to New Zealand from as low as ~$410–$450 return For example, Sydney to Auckland was spotted around $435 return on select January dates and Melbourne to Auckland from about $452 return These fares typically include 7kg carry-on (checked baggage can be added, or is included on some routes like flights from Perth/Darwin). Air NZ is also known to throw in Pacific Island destinations in their sales – there have been deals from Australia to Fiji, the Cook Islands, and Tahiti via AucklandIf your family is thinking “snow trip!”, consider booking flights to Queenstown or Christchurch now for the New Zealand ski season next winter. In past Black Friday sales, Air NZ and Jetstar have both offered cheap fares to Queenstown (e.g. Jetstar has done Sydney to Queenstown under $250 return in sales). Those fares go quickly, but Travel Tuesday is an ideal time to lock in a ski holiday flight while prices are down. Air New Zealand’s sale fares are set to end by the first week of December, so act fast.
-
Fiji Airways: Dreaming of tropical beaches? Fiji’s national airline has some sweet deals. Fiji Airways is advertising flights from Australia’s east coast to Nadi (Fiji) for around $615 return. They also have some long-haul via Fiji options – notably, flights from Australia to Los Angeles from about $1,175 return (connecting in Nadi) which is extremely competitive. Those L.A. fares are part of a collaboration with American Airlines for Travel Tuesday. If you just want a Fiji family holiday, this is the time – $600-ish return is as low as it gets for full-service flights. Fiji Airways’ deals were already live by late November and usually run through Travel Tuesday (some until Dec 3). Keep an eye on their site or Flight Centre’s deals page, as there may be package tie-ins (e.g. flight + resort bundles).
-
Hawaiian Airlines: For families tempted by Hawaii, Hawaiian Airlines has joined Travel Tuesday with specials. They’ve listed various deals from Australia (Sydney) to Honolulu and even neighbour islands like Kauai (Lihue) and the Big Island (Kona). While exact prices haven’t been publicized in the snippet, typically we’ve seen Hawaiian offer Sydney–Honolulu in the $800s return during past sales. Their Travel Tuesday promotion likely includes bonus HawaiianMiles or discounted date ranges for 2026 travel. Notably, Hawaiian allows a free stopover in Honolulu if you’re continuing to a neighbor island – so you could spend a few days in Waikiki then fly onwards to Maui or Kauai on the same ticket. If Hawaii is on your family bucket list (it’s definitely on mine – I’m picturing my kids learning to surf at Waikiki 🌊), check both Hawaiian and Qantas deals. In fact, Qantas has Brisbane to Honolulu on sale for $929 return, and Jetstar sometimes runs Gold Coast to Honolulu sales too. There’s competition on this route, which is good news for us deal-seekers.
-
Qatar Airways: The gulf carrier is offering up to 20–25% off flights as part of its global Travel Tuesday promotion. In Australia, Qatar Airways flies from major cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth to destinations all over Europe and Africa (via Doha). Their sale had a twist: up to 25% off for solo travelers, and up to 30% off if you book 2-5 people together– an incentive for families! (This was advertised if you booked by Nov 28 but they also have a broad 20% off running until Dec 2. Qatar’s Travel Tuesday deals cover travel through most of 2026, with some blackout dates (e.g. peak school holiday periods might be excluded). If Europe is on your radar, Qatar’s sale could make a big dent in the airfare cost. E.g., a family of four could potentially save 30% on flights to Paris or London – that’s hundreds of dollars back in your pocket (or earmarked for Disneyland Paris tickets!). Don’t forget Qatar also offers free stopovers in Doha with hotel packages, which can be a fun cultural add-on for the kids.
-
Cathay Pacific: Hong Kong’s flagship airline came out with a simple but appealing offer: $100 off all return flights from Australia to anywhere Cathay flies This was part of their Black Friday sale and required a promo code at booking. While $100 off might not sound huge, if you were booking multiple tickets it adds up (a family of five would save $500 total, which covers a lot of dim sum in Hong Kong!). Cathay’s sale was set to end on 30 Nov 2025, but keep an eye out on Travel Tuesday in case they release a new code or extend the offer. Cathay Pacific flies from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth to Hong Kong (with connections beyond). If you plan to visit HK Disneyland or explore Asia through Hong Kong, that extra $100 off could be the cherry on top of already-competitive fares. And like many airlines, Cathay’s travel window for sale fares runs well into late 2026 giving flexibility on when you take that trip.
-
Other International Airlines: The above are the main ones highlighted, but they’re not the only carriers offering deals. Etihad Airways had a headline offer of 35% off fares from Melbourne and Sydney to cities in Europe, Abu Dhabi and Cairo (e.g. Sydney–Manchester from $1,622 return. LATAM is advertising discounted flights to South America (e.g. Santiago, Lima) during Travel Tuesday. Mix & Match Travel (an online agent) and Traveloka have promo codes giving additional $$ off flights if you book by Travel Tuesday. In short, if you have a particular airline in mind – check their website or social media on the day. Many have limited-time promo codes or flash sales that aren’t heavily publicized. But the ones above (Qantas, Virgin, Jetstar, SIA, Emirates, Qatar, etc.) are the biggies to prioritize for Aussie departures.
With so many flight deals buzzing, the world really is opening up for Aussie families. From quick domestic breaks to bucket-list international adventures, Travel Tuesday is making 2025/2026 travel more affordable. Now, let’s look at hotel and package deals to go with those flights – after all, once you’ve flown somewhere, you’ll need a place to stay and things to do!
Family-Friendly Hotel & Holiday Deals in Top Destinations
Cheap flights are half the battle; a great family holiday also needs affordable accommodation and activities. Luckily, Travel Tuesday extends to hotels, resorts, tours, and package deals. Here are some highlights focused on popular destinations for Aussie families:
-
Bali & Southeast Asia: Bali is a longtime favourite for Australian families, and there are deals to be had. Major booking sites are on sale – Booking.com is at least 15% off a huge range of accommodations (in Bali and worldwide) for stays up to end of 2026, and Expedia is offering up to 40% off select hotels if booked by 2 Dec 2025. Specific Bali resorts are also on sale via package providers; for example, Luxury Escapes has up to 70% off exclusive hotel packages, some of which include Bali 5-star resorts at a fraction of the usual price. One deal floating around: 8 nights at a 4-star Phuket resort + flights for $1,183 per person via Flight Centre – showing that Thailand is also in play for Travel Tuesday. It’s worth checking Flight Centre’s Travel Tuesday page, as they advertise up to 50% off select holiday packages, flights and tours. Pan Pacific Hotels (which has properties in Singapore, Bali, etc.) has 30% off stays for bookings by 3 Dec. If you’re considering a city break in Asia, note that many hotel chains are on sale: IHG (InterContinental, Holiday Inn, etc.) is up to 30% off for members (it’s free to sign up) on stays through Mar 2026 and Accor is 25% off worldwide for 2+ night stays. Bottom line: the hotel you’ve been eyeing in Bali, Singapore or Phuket might just be significantly cheaper this week – it pays to shop around on comparison sites on Travel Tuesday.
-
South Pacific: Fiji & Hawaii: Sun, sand, and family fun – the Pacific islands are calling. In Fiji, a number of popular family-friendly resorts (think Outrigger, Hilton Fiji, Plantation Island, etc.) are on sale. In fact, Outrigger Resorts is offering up to 45% off its properties in Fiji, Hawai‘i, Thailand and more for bookings with code CYBER25 (by 9 Dec). That’s huge – nearly half price for a Fijian beach resort? Yes please. I also spotted that Beaches Resorts (the Caribbean sister brand to Sandals, known for family all-inclusives) have up to 65% off if you book by Dec 2 – not exactly our region, but shows how deep some hotel discounts go. Closer to home, Hawai‘i is hot this Travel Tuesday. Besides flights, accommodation in Hawaii is discounted via Booking/Expedia, and specific hotels like those under the Hilton Hawaiian Village umbrella often have 25–50% off deals now. Hawaiian Airlines even has packages with flight + hotel that could be worth a look. If a Fiji or Hawaii family holiday is on your wish list, combining the flight deals (Virgin and Qantas also have Fiji on sale from $645 return as mentioned) with hotel sales could make a normally pricey trip much more attainable. A quick example: a family of four could fly to Fiji on sale fares (say $600 each), and stay at a resort for 5 nights at 40% off – saving potentially over $1,000 overall. That’s money you can put towards island excursions, scuba dives, or the inevitable souvenir shopping spree at the hotel gift shop facilitated by your 8-year-old 😉
-
Japan: Japan has exploded in popularity for Aussie travelers (kids love the combo of high-tech fun and ancient culture – and let’s not forget Disneyland Tokyo!). The good news is Travel Tuesday has deals here too. We saw Jetstar offering Cairns to Osaka for $285 return and Flight Centre had packages to Tokyo and beyond. For hotels, Japan is included in the big OTA (online travel agent) sales like Booking.com’s up to 40% off Also, brands like Marriott Bonvoy are giving 25% off for members – relevant because Marriott has many family-friendly hotels in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto etc. If you’re considering a ski holiday in Japan’s powder snow (Hokkaido, anyone?), look at Travel Tuesday deals for January-March – some Japan ski packages might be quietly reduced. Don’t forget tours: Intrepid Travel, for instance, has up to 20% off small group tours in Japan (and worldwide) through Dec 4which could be a great way to explore with older kids or teens. Bottom line: whether it’s cherry blossoms in Tokyo or ramen in Osaka, you can likely do it cheaper by booking around Travel Tuesday.
-
Australian destinations (Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Sydney, Melbourne, etc.): Not every Travel Tuesday deal requires a passport! This sales day is also a bonanza for domestic holidays. We already covered the cheap domestic flights (Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Uluru – all on sale via various airlines).
How about accommodation and activities? Good news: Luxury Escapes and Travel Zoo often have Aussie hotel deals for Cyber Week. I’ve seen Gold Coast family resorts (with water parks) at significant discounts. Stamford Hotels, an Australian chain, is offering 35% off bed & breakfast rates Australia-wide (book by 3 Dec for stays to Sept 2026). Also, NRMA Parks and Resorts (if you’re into holiday parks or glamping) usually throw in a discount code around this time. And of course, Booking/Expedia’s 15–40% off applies to hotels in Sydney, Melbourne, and our other cities too. For example, if you fancy a city break in Melbourne to see a show with the kids, you could snag a nice hotel at up to 40% off and pair it with Qantas’s $99 flights.
-
Cairns and the Whitsundays are also areas to watch – tour providers might offer Travel Tuesday specials on reef trips or island resorts. It’s a bit like a treasure hunt: the deals are out there, just have a search on Tuesday for your dream Aussie getaway. Even theme parks and attractions sometimes join in (e.g. I saw a RedBalloon 12% off sitewide experience voucher valid through Nov 30 – handy for snaring a deal on that hot-air balloon or zoo encounter your kids have been bugging you for).
-
New Zealand (Ski towns and beyond): As mentioned, flights to NZ are discounted (Air NZ and Jetstar). For accommodations, we can use the global hotel sales – Accor’s 25% off could cover places like Queenstown and Rotorua; IHG’s sale might include the Holiday Inn in Queenstown (very family-friendly with kids-stay-free offers typically) Also, if you’re looking at a ski package for next winter, some NZ operators have early-bird deals post-Black Friday. It might not be labeled Travel Tuesday, but it’s worth checking sites like NZSki or local tour companies around this time. I personally love the idea of locking in a Queenstown trip now while prices are down – come July, you’ll be thanking yourself as you sip hot cocoa in a Queenstown chalet that you booked at 30% off!
In summary, hotels and resorts worldwide are on sale this Travel Tuesday, often 20–50% off regular rates. Combine that with cheap flights and you have the recipe for an affordable family vacation. A few more quick hits: Flight Centre has up to 50% off cruises and tours too (ever thought of taking the family on a cruise? Virgin Voyages – adults only – might not work for kids, but lines like P&O or Royal Caribbean likely have sales as well). Even Airbnb has been known to send coupons to some users around Cyber Monday. The opportunities are vast – the key is to decide what type of holiday you’re after and see if there’s a deal for it this week.
Tips for Finding and Booking the Best Travel Tuesday Deals
All these deals sound fantastic, but you might be wondering how to actually grab them before they disappear. Fear not – here are my tried-and-true tips (from one bargain-loving mum to another) for making the most of Travel Tuesday:
-
Plan Ahead & Do Your Research: A little prep work goes a long way. In the days leading up, make a short list of destinations or trips your family is interested in, and note typical prices. That way, on Travel Tuesday you’ll know a real bargain when you see it. Set price alerts on apps like Hopper or Skyscanner for your key routes – they can notify you of price drops Also, have a rough budget in mind and check those school holiday dates now (no point buying ultra-cheap flights that fall in week 3 of the school term!). If you know what’s a good price for (say) “Brisbane to Tokyo in July”, you can confidently hit “Book” when it falls to that level.
-
Subscribe to Newsletters & Follow Socials: This tip pays off big time. Sign up for airline and hotel email newsletters– Qantas, Virgin, Jetstar, Accor, Marriott, you name it. Yes, your inbox will be crammed, but you’ll often get early access or promo codes. For example, Jetstar gave Club Jetstar members 24-hour early access to their Black Friday sale. Virgin’s mailing list might send you a heads-up on the exact start time of their sale. Also follow airlines on Facebook, Instagram, etc. Sometimes they release exclusive social media promo codes or flash deals on the day. Being in the loop can give you a crucial few hours head-start before the general public catches on.
-
Be Ready on Tuesday (Set Your Alarm): Many Travel Tuesday deals go live at midnight Monday or in the early hours of Tuesday. If you’re keen on a popular deal, consider staying up late Monday night to snag it as soon as it drops. (I’ve booked flights at 1am more times than I’d like to admit – coffee on Tuesday morning is your friend!) By Tuesday lunchtime, some of the hottest fares can be sold out, so the earlier, the better. That said, some sales (like hotel deals on Booking.com) refresh throughout the day or even continue into Wednesday, so it’s worth checking back if you missed the initial rush. Pro tip: because Australia is ahead in time, some deals might technically start for us on Wednesday if they’re tied to US time – e.g. a sale ending 11:59pm PST on Dec 2 is actually early afternoon on Dec 3 AEDT. But most Aussie sales will stick to Aussie dates/times, so treat Tuesday as your main window.
-
Stay Flexible (Dates & Destinations): The more flexible you are, the greater your chance of scoring a deal. If you can, keep an open mind about where and when to travel. Maybe you were thinking Gold Coast in April, but then a crazy cheap fare to Fiji in March appears – why not? Let the deal guide you to an extent. Similarly, shifting your travel dates by even a day or two could be the difference between sale fares and regular prices. Many airline sales have specific travel periods (e.g. “Feb to mid-Sept 2026”). If your dates are slightly outside, consider adjusting your plans to fit the deal. Also, be aware of blackout periods – e.g. no cheap flights during Christmas or mid-school-holidays. But shoulder seasons can be fair game. Some of our best family trips happened at times we originally hadn’t considered, simply because we followed the deals.
-
Act Fast – But Don’t Panic: Travel Tuesday is competitive. Thousands of other deal-hunters are clicking furiously, and airlines often have limited seats at the lowest prices. If you see a great fare, grab it – it might literally be gone in minutes. Much like snapping up in-demand concert tickets, you need to be quick and decisive. That said, always double-check the details before you hit purchase: travel dates, passenger names (spell them right!), airports (Melbourne Avalon is not the same as Tullamarine, for example), and any add-ons. It’s easy to get caught in the frenzy and accidentally book the wrong thing. Take a breath, verify the essentials, then complete the booking swiftly. Have your frequent flyer numbers handy (no one wants to be digging through old emails for kids’ Qantas FF numbers at checkout time) and ensure you remember your login passwords or have autofill set up. I’ve been that person who forgot her flight booking password while the clock was ticking – never again!
-
Use Multiple Channels: On Travel Tuesday, I have multiple browser tabs open – one for each airline or booking site I’m monitoring. It can save time to search simultaneously. Also, consider using both the official airline site and comparison sites like Skyscanner or Google Flights. Occasionally, a sale fare might appear on one and not the other due to tech delays. (However, if a fare is truly a limited promo, booking direct with the airline is usually safest to secure it.) Don’t forget to apply any coupon codes – e.g. some hotel deals require entering a code at checkout for the extra discount (Travel Tuesday is essentially an e-commerce event, so treat it like an online shopping spree).
-
Check the Fine Print: Ah, the boring (but important) part – read the terms & conditions of those sale fares. Many cheap flights are “Lite” or basic fares that don’t include baggage or free changes. Factor in luggage costs for longer trips, and maybe opt for the slightly-higher flex fare if you think plans might change. Some Travel Tuesday deals are non-refundable, period. So be sure before you book, or consider travel insurance that covers cancellation. As I always say, locking in cheap flights before firming up your plans does carry some risk. If you’re uneasy, look for flexible fares or add-on flexibility for a fee In 2025, a lot of airlines still offer pandemic-era flexibility options – sometimes at booking you can choose a more flexible ticket for a bit more money. Weigh the savings versus your certainty of travel. Personally, if I’m saving hundreds on a flight, I don’t mind paying $20 extra for the option to change dates later. Similarly, check hotel cancellation policies – many Booking.com Cyber deals still allow free cancellation up to a certain date, which is ideal if you’re booking far in advance.
-
Use Rewards and Gift Cards: Another savvy move – leverage your frequent flyer points or vouchers on Travel Tuesday. Some programs have points specials (e.g. Qantas Frequent Flyer might reduce the points needed on certain routes during sales). Or if you have an unused flight credit, this could be a great time to use it on a cheap fare (stretch that credit further). Also, if grandma gave the kids a $100 travel gift card or you have an Amex offer for travel spend, combine it with the sale for double-win savings. A bit of planning to stack discounts can make a big difference.
-
Stay Safe Online: With all the clicking and excitement, don’t forget basic online safety. Use secure payment methods, ensure you’re on the official websites (beware of phishing emails posing as airline deals – stick to sources you trust or sites you navigated to yourself). And once you book, save your confirmation and e-tickets in a safe place. Then you can relax… until it’s time to pack!
Finally, remember that Travel Tuesday is fun! I genuinely get a thrill from hunting down the perfect family trip at a price that doesn’t break the bank. In recent years, it’s become a bit of a tradition in our household – I’ll be on my laptop Tuesday night yelling “Kids, guess what, I think we’re going to Cairns next June!” when a deal lands. The kids have started looking forward to where Mum finds cheap flights to next. 😄
